Resident Doris Watson throws her hands up in the air.

On Sept. 27, 2017, residents, associates and family members gathered at Life Care Center of Osawatomie, Kansas, for the Wings and Wheels bike show.

Twenty-five motorcycles lined up in the parking lot, and residents were able to go on rides, courtesy of the American Legion Riders Chapter 156. A DJ played music, and guests enjoyed chicken wings and hot dogs.

“I haven’t ridden a bike in years, and I loved the ride,” said resident Agnes Green.

“It sure made me feel younger,” said resident Donita Escott.

“I can’t wait to go again,” said resident Doris Watson.

Two residents judged the motorcycles and gave out plaques for different awards. Best of Show went to a Harley Davidson motorcycle with purple lights. Other awards included Best Metric, Best Design and farthest distance to arrive (the winner travelled 45 miles).

This is the seventh year for the event at Life Care Center of Osawatomie.
