On July 13, 2018, Life Care Center of Osawatomie, Kansas, hosted a blood drive for the Red Cross.
Red Cross representatives brought in the equipment and set up in the west dining room, using the conference room as a waiting area with snacks. Twenty-five people showed up, both associates and community members, and 18 were able to donate.
“I feel blessed to have the ability to give back to someone,” said Teresa Martin, social services director. “Working with the American Red Cross was amazing. The staff were well trained and very compassionate. I didn’t even realize when I got stuck with the needle.”
“They were great to work with, providing everything we needed,” said Tammi Conner, admissions coordinator. “I just had to provide the place and the people.”
